Prominence Heats Up

Hello again, and welcome to the hot-and-humid June 2007 edition of the Prominence newsletter. It's crazy hot here in New York, but exciting things are afoot this month!

Prominence Team Expands
Award-winning producer and composer Tom Griffith has signed on to work on the music production and sound design for Prominence, and we're thrilled to have him on the team. He has composed music for films and countless advertising campaigns over the years, and garnered two Clios and a Cannes Silver Lion along the way. The formal announcement is on the site, and can be viewed here.

What you won't see in the official announcement is that he also has written and produced jingles performed by .38 Special, George Benson, Fats Domino, Kenny Rogers, Dave Edmunds, and many more. In fact, you might already know some of Tom's work without knowing it if you've ever heard jingles like "I've Got That M&M's Feeling", "Welcome to Miller Time", or Finesse's "Sometimes You Need a Little".

First Interview About Prominence
Adventure Classic Gaming posted an interview with Prominence team member Mike Morrison. The article features some new information about the game, including a bit about the gameplay and puzzles, the engine being used to power the game, some of the inspirations behind Prominence, and other juicy tidbits. It also contains two previously unreleased pieces of concept art. Check out the full story at ACG.

Your questions answered...again!
Thanks to everyone who sent in questions in response to last month's newsletter. Keep 'em coming and we'll try to get to all of them. Except the spoilers, of course. :) This month we have a question from Mary M., who wrote in and asked, "Can't tell from the web site blurbs, is this game to be mouse-based, or keyboard, or what?"

Good question, Mary! In terms of gameplay, Prominence will be mostly mouse-driven. We call it a panoramic, first-person, point-and-click adventure. That's kind of a mouthful, but if you've played games like Myst IV or Scratches, those offer similar controls for looking around, moving, and interacting with the world.

We want to hear from you! Do you have a question for the Prominence development team? Reply to this newsletter with your question, you may see the answer in a future issue.
